I just got the shop manual for my '98 GT today, and it sure doesn't look trivial to get the engine elevated in a manner that will allow me to replace the oil pan gasket. I was curious if anyone on the list has actually done this themselves, and if so, how did you raise the engine up and support it while effecting the repair ?

The shop manual indicates you need to use the special engine support fixture that you attach to the topside of the engine bay (strut towers and radiator cross bracket assy). This is actually in the section that describes replacing the lower engine mount - the section on replacing the oil pan gasket magically leaves out the fact that you apparently have to deal with the lower engine mount first before you can get to the oil pan.

Thanks in advance.
