Test 1

Turn on Air Conditioning
Turn on Re-circulation
While driving, Rev engine to 3500 RPM + (enter expressway quickly)
Air Conditioning shuts down

Air conditioning ramps back up, Re-circulation stays on.

The PCM kicks the A/C compressor off over a certain throttle setting to get the most power out of the motor it can for accelleration.

I knew that the compressor was set to cut out at high speeds. I didn't know that the fan in the passinger compartment was also designed to cut out whe the engine was under a heavy load. I rarely drive where the engine is running at that high of an RPM, as I live in a rural area and use back roads to get to the city (Pittsburgh). Not a big deal, but if something was wrong wanted it fixed under warrenty.

Ok I misunderstood what part of the system you were talking about. Just for future reference the fan in the passenger compartment is known as a blower motor. That should stay on. Not sure what would cause it to lose power over that rpm range.
