I'm about to install the new pulley on my S/C. It's a gen 3 3.8 L36 I believe, my question is should I install a new boost relief valve? or is the stock one sufficient?

L36's are naturally aspirated, unless a top swap has been done.

Your OEM boost valve should be sufficient. I don't think too many have changed their boost valve because of a pulley change.

Honestly, I think you need to do a whole lot more reading.

There is no upgrade for the boost bypass valve. It's not like a BOV. It's function is for not using boost in normal everyday driving.

I may have had the information that I provided incorrect but the question still stands. I was just curious if the extra boost would cause a problem. I've read a lot of information on the subject but experience has always seemed to prevail over literature.

NO you do not need to worry about the BBV.

The BBV doesn't care if you have 1 psi of boost or 100psi. It's job is to bypass the supercharger under normal driving conditions. It does nothing for holding boost or bleeding off excessive boost.

The L67 produces plenty of power in the lower rpms to move the car easily. The BBV basically removes the S/C from the system for normal everyday driving. This helps keep the mpgs decent for the size of the car. As you add boost you have to add fuel.

And don't install a new pulley unless you have supporting mods. I don't know what you've done to the car prior to this, but dropping pulleys, if it's your first mod, is a no no.
