Hey guys,

I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP with 200k miles, bought at an auction. (scary i know) Since it was bought at an auction, i have very limited knowledge of the history of the car. Ive had a stuttering, misfiring, bogging, etc. problem at low rpms since i got the car. I was looking around and thought that at 200k miles, there may be a chance of a motor swap. I looked at my engine block ID numbers and date code and the date code says the block was cast in February 2002. I also looked at my PCM and it is for a 97. I know there are many differences between the 97 & 98-02 & 03 PCMs. Is there any way i can put in a different PCM or have it tuned to where my 2002 motor works correctly along with all of my 97 chassis, interior, etc features? And also, even though it was cast in Feb. 2002, could it possibly be an 03 motor?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Logan
