I have a stock 04 gtp comp g. Is a performance chip ok for the SC'er? Would the tranny be able to handle that kind of HP gain? (about 75 they say) Whats the best brand?

You ain't be getting any where near that with a tune. They play with your trans settings with a pre tuned pcm. ZZP sells them, 3800 performance, thrasher, intense racing, w body store. They are all the same thing when it all boils down. Some people claim that other companies perform better than others

Agree with 04GPGT. Tune alone isn't going to give 75hp. I think in the fine print for most companies they will say - "with supporting mods" and by that they mean at least air intake, downpipe and maybe catback exhaust. Some might include a lower temp thermostat or even sparkplugs.

You can get as much HP as you want on these cars, the question is whether you really want to drop the $$$ into all that's necessary to support having it run safely and on a daily basis.
