Just wondering if anybody has any spare keyfob remote entries laying around for cheap. I'm not sure what the model of mine is at the moment but I really need to get another one since this one barely works anymore!!! Thought I'd has to see if anybody had any before going elsewhere.

Thanks crazy

Did you press and hold the lock and unlock buttons for 7 seconds, while standing near the car? If you did and it still doesn't work, just grab a used one on Ebay and program it.

If a remote is programmed to a car, holding the lock and unlock at the same time resynchronizes the key fob. Solder joints on the battery hold downs are really bad for breaking. Yours is most probably broken internally. A few autoparts stores have testers for them. They're usually at a battery stand and will flash a light if they detect a key fob frequency, showing yours is putting out a signal or not.

I recently replaced the battery in my original remote ('98 has the battery holder clip attached to the case, probably why it still works 14 years later, lol!) To resynchronize it I stand behind the car, aim the remote at the center of the dash, press and hold the lock and unlock buttons at the same time until the lights flash/horn sounds, which is about seven seconds. Done!

I think my remote is just basically wore out! You can get the unlock button to work everynow and then from time to time and the trunk button works good most of the time since it never has got used. The lock button never works though now. This is the second remote we've had with the car. The first one went bad and we had to get one off of ebay.

I've swapped the battery out with other ones and it seems that it has really not made much a difference. That is why I was wondering if anybody had any key fobs laying around that might match our numbered key fob!

^^Well, if it's the buttons that are giving you trouble you can get a new case & button pad on Ebay: 98 new case & buttons

I did that with my original remote, looks like new! wink
