Hi all,
Have been noticing that when I start and run my 97 GTP I can smell fuel even after it has been turned off and sitting for a while. Can smell it both inside and outside the car. Could this be the o ring bad or any suggestions as to what my be causing the smell. I know the mufflers are good with no holes as I just had them checked.

check your FPR( fuel press. regulator) to see if it may be leaking some fuel, or the connections on the top of your fuel rail, look for anysigns realy for leaking. but yeah you may be on the right track that it could be an o-ring, im sure some one else will chime in with some pointers

Well, if it is the orings I suggest you to look into that real quick because there are a few cases of gtp's catching on fire because of the o-rings.

check around the injectors for fuel. could be a bad 02 sensor too, and you are running rich

X2 My car always smelled like gas on the outside before I replaced my O2 sensor. Haven't smelled anything since so that could be your problem.

Which reminds me I still need to finish that writeup...

My LIMs were bad last year, had similar smells, fixed and no such smells anymore...look for oily deposits by the intake bolts on the heads
