That has to be another one of those resistor type gimmicks, if I'm not mistaken...

Alright, and for the serious question, any opinions on this buy?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/22-HP-Pro...sspagenameZWDVW

Says you need a performance shift button (which I don't have since I have a GT) but would it do anything to my car since really the only mod I have is open cone intake? And if I did get it, would I have to install a new shift knob with performance shift? What would the performance shift button be necessary for anyway?

And I've just noticed that premium octane fuel is REQUIRED. I use 87 in my car due to the price of gas, and wonder what the reason for premium being REQUIRED for that pcm. Sorry I have so many questions...

Arghh, pasted the total wrong link right there, it was supposed to be this:

Sorry guys. I'm sure you're probably reading that wondering "Is this guy serious?!?" lol

I just need to know if that will help my car at all, and what the purpose of the performance shift button would be.

Long way... there are some GTs that have a performance shift button. You can install one. Now, there's some discussion about this in that an aftermarket PCM would go around this. Some say that you must ground clear pin 21. Now, Charles from DHP, said that with GTs it's not necessary.

Performance shift button ups the tranny pressure to increase the revs.

Nonetheless, you should get a PCM and watch your GT go. devilgrin

Since when? I'm guessing that you are not talking about a stock option...

"This is better than nitrous without The Nitrous effects on the motor."

Feature list applies to Grand Prix SE (3.8L engine only), GT at all times, and to Grand Prix GTP when performance shift mode is selected
Quote comes from the link you listed..... I would suggest directing questions to the vendor.

Later now,
Clint

I'm glad the person put it up there. Anyone that knows what Nitrous is will question the validity of this product.

That thing is actually very helpful. Guys call it the "happy knob" its used to essentially turn up your timing as a result of changing the resistance on the IAT sensor. Your PCM looks at this sensor when going WOT in order to appropriate correct ignition timing.

True, but you can get a AFC instead of the homdemade happy knob.

Believe when I say this is not a true happy nob ,to use a true happy nob it has to be programmed into your PCM ,the problem with these cheapy products is there is little or no R&D so results are iffy, trust the tried and true performance mods,as far as this product being better than nitrous that statement reinforces there lack of performance knowledge with proper tuning you can add a true 100whp with no2 can there product do that ,I doubt it seriously .Chico.
