OK I now have my first mechanical problem. The gp has 72984 miles on it. When I'm crusing about 60mph and then give it more gas to get up to 70 mph the car jerks. I'm guessing It's time for a complete tune up. Plugs and wires to start with. Do you guys agree or is there another problem. I'm not throwing a check engine light ( yet)!!!!

Im really tempted to say Torque Converter. All that means, most likely, is low tranny fluid. Or maybe the converter is goin. Otherwise, I cant think of anything.

I'd say tune up first.

I've never had the problem, but my thought was torque converter too. It might be a lock-up problem... you can test that by unplugging the electrical connector on top of the torque converter area (4 wires i think) and see if it does it.

I still say bad wires. My truck was doing that for a while before it threw a code.

I'd lean toward the TC stuck in lockup. Next time tap your brakes (just enough to light the brake lighs) and try to accelerate. That should force the TC to unlock... see if that helps.

This seems like a semi-common even in GM cars. My old Achieva needed the TC lockup disabled beause it went bad.

Always check the level of your tranny fluid first..... Low fluid will create some crazy results.

And the winner is -- HERC hammer hammer

On my way home last nite, the gp did it again, this time when the transmission down shifted to get up a hill at about 35 mph. So I figured it was the tranny. I called the shop and they ran a road test and tried to pull codes and nothing. So they ran a diag. test on the ignition and my #4 cylender has a miss fire. Need new plugs and wires folks. I have the plugs just need to get the wires this weekend and hopefully it wont be as cold as it was last weekend........

Always check the simple things first. My Silverado was doing the same thing to me. I popped the hood while the engine was running and I could actually see the wires arcing to the heat shields. By the way those wires were only nine months old.

Well this sucks to hell. I was doing maintenance on the car yesturday and when I got to the plugs, I noticed that the front 3 wires are cracked. I have no idea how bad the back ones R. I have the money to get wires, just don't want to get them yet cause I told my daughter that I would take her to Denver to do some Kart racing for spring break.....Guess I'll be taking the wifes Murano while shes at work. She's gonna be pissed...............
