OK, got an L36? You can help. My L67 swap is using a L36 harness adapted over. I need a plug IDed however. I believe I don't need it, but confirmation would help.
On the rear, under the engine cover is a two-prong plug. It emerges right before the front O2 sensor plug and is gray if you unplug it. Wires appear to be orange and pink/black if I remember right.
I think it runs to some sort of AIR injector or EVAP solenoid that isn't used on an L67. Let me know what you find.

Lemme run to the garage. should be a couple of minutes
EDIT: nope. only found the front O2 sensor and a gray wire. That gray wire happens to be my spark plug wire. Please allow someone else to chime in here. Sorry I wasnt of much help.

It's circled. The one below it is the front O2 plug. Wires are orange and pink/black.

Looks like it should go to that black unit on the bracket above the fuel rail. I'll check my wiring diagrams...

No, the Evap purge solenoid plug is on the other side of the harness and it's red (yeah, gotta splice).

I just climbed back there, it is on the engine lift bracket, but after the bracket, it just disappears. I was not able to trace it much further. Here's a (crappy) pic for ya

Judging from the pic of it running to another harness and the one of your rack and pinion... you wouldn't happen to have magnasteer would you? It adjusts steering effort by speed... and might be what the plug is for.

I have no idea if I have magnasteer or not. I doubt it; Colleen is a 2000.

It your EVAP purge Vavle, on the L36 its the metal tubing runing aross the top of the engine. it plugs into the front of the engie the evap purge swicth, then to the back of the engine to the evap purge valve. Whish is were that harness hooks into.

Ray is right, it's EVAP related. I have a small, circular EVAP unit that it plugs into on my car. I might be able to take a quick pic.
Oh yeah, you're gonna have a h-ll of a time getting that motor in with the headers already on. They're gonna be hitting the firewall and the radiator...

What was my PITA during my swap was the master cylinder was right in the way, it would get caught between that and the AC condenser.

OK, consensus is to wrap and forget it. I thought as much, just wanted to make sure.
drummer, rear header is on for mock-up purposes. It will be taken off before install. No way would it go in with it. Also, I'll have to rip the master cylinder off. We had trouble with it and the smaller engine.

You really shouldn't deleter the evap system at all. One of the main jobs is to store the fumes from the gas when you are pumping gas in the car. If you car going to delter it tho make sure you plug up all the vac lins that evertyhign hooks up or or you will have one major vac leak.

Thats what the penny mod does! It plugs both of the wholes.
I have never heard the EGR delete or an evap delete causing an explosion at the gas pump

Rook... I have that connector just sitting there too. IIRC it comes out out of the subharness for the primary O2 sensor. I have no idea what its for, but its not being used on my factory L36 + factory harness.
