Am i gonna be needing my tranny operated on? i haven't driven my car since friday and when i was cruising to town today when i'd shift into third it was like i was surging...like i wasn't goin fast enough for third gear of something? i don't really know how to explain it...it felt alright when i got on it half-way hard? but i dunno...any ideas?!

What speeds were you cruising at when you noticed the problems? The car's computer seems like it doesn't like the 35-50 mph range, because it can't decide which gear it wants to be in. Most of the time driving around town I keep the shifter in 3. That could be your problem, the car just keeps hunting for the right gear.

Sounds like 3rd and overdrive (4). Torque converter related issue maybe? Disconnect your battery for 20 minutes to reset the PCM. That seemed to help my funky torque converter lockup behavior issue once.
