Chico has quietly built one of the best looking gp's IMO. Big props to and your car. I wish I had the time, money and know-how to do all the stuff you've done to your car.

The hood is metal and the scoop is fiberglass,I use the rivets to make sure everything stays put ,I see many attemps at bonding on a scoop that ends in cracks at the seams .and Brown thx for the compliment I do have an advantage though not using a vehicle as a daily driver allows you to experiment and try things that you would have a difficult time with trying to use the car as a DD ,I'm a certified car nut I spend weekends working on one vehicle or another between me and my soninlaw our buisness and personal vehicles total 10 an 06 Tahoe,06 CTS,04 Titan,04GTO,01 Bonniville,99STS,97GP GT(P),90 Vette Sold 10/07 (repoed 01/08),65 AMC Marlin,70 MG midget(75% restored ) and a couple of work trucks that my workers use a 95 Ford P/U and a 98 Chev P/U.Chico(pops)

i would be intrested in some instructions as well. hey chico with your hood with the scoop did the mounting tabs mount out like on the outside of the scoop or were the mounting tabs on the inside of the scoop itself. I am thinking more about making a custom hood, im just wondering were all the tabs or the mounting locations of some of the scoops are because if they are on the inside that means less body work for me lol. i still would like to do a gto scoop or a cuda style but tryen to find a scoop to mount is high $$

Hey Guys...if You feel You can handle some Body-work, You can check-out "Auto Direct Save.com" & see some of the Hood-add-ons, some as low as $199.00.
Rather that paying $7 & 800.oo for a full hood on some Sites, & You can even make your openings & add some duct-work to sent the air-flow to your cone filters, with a little Ingenuity or to any part of the engine compartment You chose(Home made Ram-air) for a whole lot less "I would suggest Heavy Duty rivets, Bondo & quite a bit of Sanding/Smoothing things out to the right contours"...then a nice paint job. And, don't worry...I am No expert either, but I don't care to spend $800.00 for a Hood, either. But, I think that it would be a great savings, experience & accomplishment...just my opinion, & I am not Crazy trust Me.
That will be my next project...I am getting the "Vortex model", check them Out!
