I got my tax refund yesterday or today, and used all of it (plus a little more) to finish paying off my car. Until my check hits my account in the morning, I have $17.34 in my bank account. But my car is completely paid off!!!

Oh, and just fyi, I got the car March 15 of 2007. Paid her off in just under two years. I turn 21 at the end of the month, so this is my early birthday present to myself I guess.

Congrats, Jon. I remember you were debating this with yourself over lunch. I say good move, now you have more disposable income to throw at your other concerns.
Nothing like that out-of-debt-to-someone-else feeling, is there?

Right on! Hopefully you won't have to put any money into her for a while. May the car gods look favorably upon you (I swear I feel like they've got it in for me.).

Nice. I've been fortunate to never have a car payment, and driven the cars I've wanted. However, I've got lots of other payments (debt) I accumulated.

Mine wont be paid off until Feb. of 2010! Thats just making payments tho. If I get the chance to pay it off or help pay it off sooner I'm going to take that chance and run with it.

Thanks guys. Now that that's done, I should have my credit card paid off in a month or so. It's not even close to maxed out, but that's what I put most of my spending on, so I kinda keep the balance about the same all the time. Now I can pay it off. I'm excited. Once I get the title from the bank, I think I'll frame that thing and put it by my bed. :p j/k But once I get my card paid off and a little spare cash in my bank account, I'm going to focus on getting my car up to 100%. Like fixing that stupid key-stuck-in-ignition problem. <_< There are a lot of small things like that that I'm finally going to tackle.

you know my step dad had a 99 red GTP and his key would get stuck too, he just yankin at it and turnin the wheel a little and turn it back and forth, but his car caught on fire from the valve cover recall, burned down 5 apartment garage stalls with 5 cars in it. nobody was hurt luckily, and he got JACK crap from the insurance.... not even his fault, hes one of those 250 vehicles in the world to get caught on fire cuz of this

Dude. The valve cover fire is a crock of B.S., you know this right. Its just a cheaper and easier fix than the real problem, the fuel injector o-rings.

lol, I already have, Chico. K&N intake, ZZP PCM, HV TB, 180* T-stat are the engine mods so far. I was going to spend part of the refund on a downpipe and GMPP handling kit, but since I was paying $200 a month on my car, then in two months, I'll have that money anyway.

Congratulations!
Next time we meet for lunch or something, remind me about your key issue. I can diagnose it in 5-10minutes max. I might even have the fix for it in the garage.

Will do. Thanks Slick! It's USUALLY just a minor issue. Bang on the gear shift a couple times, and it comes out. Every once in a while, though, it'll get stuck in there and won't come out, every time I turn off the engine, for like a week. THAT is when it gets really frustrating. lol

Mine did that for a couple of days, shortly after I bought it. I was broke so I waited, and it never came back. Its been about 2 years and never happened again.

[/b]Yet in doing so the "Techs" dont have to unplug really anything, or worry about anything else connected to the main source. There fore they dont have to worry about breaking injectors/fuel lines/plugs, and ripping wires out.

I've got a couple lights mods in it, but I plan on having a 3.4 pulley (with supporting mods, of course) by summer's end (all I need is a dp, tuner, and the pulley) and I hope to have completely redone the suspension by September. She needs it, the suspension isn't very good. However, I still need to do the research on that to decide what I want to do.
