It's time fore replacement when you have cracks going across the belt and or sections of the ribbing gone. Cracks in the ribbing are fine but chunks gone is no good.

If I remember correctly, the general rule of thumb is if there are more then 12 cracks per inch, the belt should be replaced. I think. Had to do mine at around 83,000 miles
