Depending on what you want to do....
1. Cold Air Intake, or Fenderwell Intake ($75.00 & up)
2. 180 degree thermostat ($10.00)
3. Custom exhaust ($500.00?)

Then it can get pricey.

The DPH chip runs around $300.00 though.

I know about how it works, keeping the engine cooler and all by running the cooling system more often, but is there a noticable gain from the thermostat upgrade? Just curious.

There is no noticable output gain when you are decreasing the temperature of the engine compartment. What you are doing in increasing the efficiency ( energy is not wasted on heat but transformed into the mechanical energy ). So when you change the thermostat the cylinder will be cooler when the mixture explodes and so it will not expand as dramatically therefore preventing the deformation of the rings, the piston and the wall. Another way to increase efficiency is to decrease the heating of the incoming air. Since air expands when heated the volume will go up, but the density of hot air is small compared to that of cold air. The way to decrease the heat of the air that enteres the chamber is to put an intercooler between the supercharger and the manifold. This is one of the best ways to decrease the temp of air entering the chamber. The S/C heats up the air dramatically as its rpm is roughly 2 times that of your engine. This means that it is one of the most abused parts as very few people change the S/C oil in the nose drive. The problem is that an intercooler is roughly 3,000.00. Another way of cooling the incoming is is to isolate the throttle body from the supercharger with a composite spacer (gp store). Along with this wrapping the corss over pipe and puting a shield to prevent ANY heat from interacting with the throttle body is prefferable. The advantage of wrapping the crossover pipe is that the heat that affects the Throttle body AND the transmission is cut down. Installing a tranny cooler is also great as a tranny cooler will decrease the temp of the liguid around 20 degrees thus prolonging the life of the most complex system of your car. Another way of doing that is changing the A/T fluid more often. another way is replacing the ubend which creates unnecessary backpressure. This $60.00 mod will increase the flow and so up you by roughly 4 horses.

But if you want raw power addition without doing the "efficiency" upgrades then a Magnusson nose drive with a 3.4 pulley is roughly 400.00 and will take you 3 hours.

Enjoy
