The hood pins im selling, instead the shops fabricating an 04 grand am latch for the hood (something they shoulda reccomended first). Anyhow they let me go back and take some pics of the hood so heres some pics, no latch on it but itll just go a lil farther down with latch, so the hoods up just a lil bit but looks good. Heres the pics.







You can tell in this pic that the latch isnt in there cause of the gap where it would go down.

I love this color but I don't know how I feel about this new hood. I know everyone always that hood should belong to firebird. You should got F1 hood better

Well, Tbat's car is dark black. I couldn't see his hood shape from distance. Our color show hood shape. If you like it then keep it and good luck for latch.

Of course i like it, I really think the new hood compliments everything ive done to the car.

lol what? Why should I mad about his new hood? I already have F1 hood which I love my car look. Everyone have different taste about hood shape. We have like SD, F1, WS6, Daytona/40th hood, GTX, Cowl, fake scoop, and some other hoods.

I think with the right body shop they can get that 1 scoop lookin good, espically if they mold it in and possibly make it functional?

anyways, I was talking to guy who is going to help me on Monday and he has been busy (it's hunting season) but he is going to try and free up some time this week coming. So hopefully I will have it all done and primered by next weekend but who knows.

Palsut:

1) Your hood is hardly functional. It has ram air capability. Do you have an open cone? If so do you have the ram air box around it? If so, take it off because it's heat soaking your incoming air.

Not to mention ram air does very little on fwd cars because of the positioning of the tb.

2) My scoop isn't a stick on, it will be molded in to the hood just like yours. It will be functional, it will move air across the motor to help cool it and prevent heat soak. Ram air would do nothing on my car because it has force induction which nullifies the principle behind ram air, and, like yours, it's FWD.

1) No, I don't have open cone but it will be next year. I thought about get 3800 engine. I found place can swap engine from SE to GT/GTP about hour from me. It will cost me $4000 for whole set with tranmission, and some stuffs. Part of me want stay away from 3800 engine because of fire and tranmission blown so I decide keep 3100.

2) ahh I see. good choice to molded it

the 3.8 and 4t65 is better than the 3.1 and 4t60 that came in the SE however the money you would invest in doing a swap is more than what the car is worth so I can see not doing the swap.

cant wait to see the possible new 3800 in your car palsut.

anyways, back on topic, the hood is nice man, i like it. are you going to get matching grills?

I didn't say I'm planning swap 3800 engine. R.S.H. is right. Not worth to swap them when it cost more than what my car worth.

I first say this on Palsuts vote thread.
I didn't like the pic where it is from above, the scoop looks way far back on the hood. But then I seen this thread and seen it from side shot, and it looks fine and great!
That top view makes it look as if it was positioned to far up.

The pics are lookin good...I know youre havin pain of a time getting the fit right...but get yourself a latch cuz I dont think youre gonna be happy with the hood pins (your choice of course)

I'm not gonna start another off topic rant on how I feel about the Firebird thing but the T/A has its pace in my heart and history...that being said, the GP is a badazz, underrated and overlooked car IMO and is worthy of carrying just about any kind of sport look you can put on it. GPs are Firebirds after they have grown up :p

All said and done that hood looks great and I think it adds a nice look to a GP.Chico(pops)
