I got two parking tickets because I had dead tags(december of 2008) and my state inspection sticker was dead too. I was waiting until the 15th to get things done but the darn police got me yesterday because it was sitting on the street.

So my question is will this make my insurance go up, I was told that parking tickets don't go against the insurance but I wanted to hear some answers on here.

It doesn't have anything to do with your driving, pretty sure of that.
It's not a moving violation.

If you take it to court and show them that they've been taken care of, a lot of time the judge will drop it.

Besides, I thought you had 30 days after they expired to get them taken care of? Maybe it's a Texas thing, or maybe it's a myth...

Regardless, take it to court, explain to the judge that it was your fault but you were waiting until mid January, and see what happens. It can't make things any worse for you.

They send me letter for remind me last November. That's early 2 months remainder. I just like oh no problem. I can take care of it later until I see his thread about renew tag. I just ohhh I forgot about that. I'm ready to write the check to send mail out tomorrow. wink

Its not a moving violation, so your insurance will not see them. All you have to do is get it taken care of and goto the court. I know in AZ the tags is a $800 ticket and if you get it taken care of before the court date, they lessin the fine to $100.

Here the fine is 40 dollars but since I had dead tags and expired state inspection sticker, thats 80 dollars. I called the number and they said they don't give out extensions for parking tickets, only tickets like for speeding, illegal turns, etc.

They only give you 14 days to pay or it will go up to 65 dollars, so I have till the 21 of this month to pay it.

What is this about taking it to court, there is no court date on the sheet, its just a piece of paper saying to pay it by this date or it will go up to 65 dollars.

go to clerk of court for the county the ticket was written and request a hearing - the court date is set at the hearing or show the judge that you have remedied the problem and the ticket MAY be dismissed or the judge MAY reduce the fine and you can pay it there and be on your way.
