I was just wondering can you use the supercharger from the GTP on the 2002 SE or would you have to do a full motor swap.

Or keep it for better mpg? Anyway, answer is yes. You have to swap the motor and tranmission for supercharger 3800 engine. Or you could use turbo on 3100 engine. I know someone mentioned it but I don't know who done that. Btw welcome to site.

Catfish front bumper 97-00 have option engine 3.8 engine
GT/P front bumper 01-03 have standard 3100 engine. So he has 3100 engine because it is 2002.

Well I guess you have the 3100 so SC your engine would mean a motor swap or machining a special intake manifold ,but since your asking the question I do'nt suppose this would be an option,as Palsut mentioned a turbo would be an option but be prepared to pay around 3k unless you can do a lot of the fab work yourself.Chico.(pops)

Well I own 2 2001 & 2003 SE model. They are from 3100 engine. 1997 SE catfish bumper 3100 & 3800 engines 1998 SE catfish bumper 3100 & 3800 engines 1999 SE catfish bumper 3100 & 3800 engines 2000 SE catfish bumper 3100 & 3800 engines GT/P front bumper add SE model and 3800 engine option is dead. 2001 SE gt/p bumper 3100 engine. No 3800 engine 2002 SE gt/p bumper 3100 engine. No 3800 engine 2003 SE gt/p bumper 3100 engine. NO 3800 engine That's how I learn other website. It is easy. If you see GT/P front bumper with SE model body so it is standard 3100 engine. Believe me, I'm right.

The 3100 would barely have enough power to spin an m90, haha jokes, but seriously.
If you want a power adder, the 3100 is a prime candidate for a bolt on turbo.

According to the fuel economy.gov site, the grand prixs get 17 city and 27 highway (new figures) but that is for the 3.1 AND the 3.8. so what was the reason to get a 3.1 again?????? nostalgia?

I've not heard of a SC for the 3100. So, as stated before, the turbo would be ur best bet for boost. Just be sure to beef up the tranny.
*off topic* I think you guys scared him off XD

It is not like it is first time that he done that. Some people from 1 post ask question and never back. I don't know why but that's happened sometimes.

97s were only 3.8s, actually. The 3.1 was later than expected.

Well yah after you realise how much money hes thrown into apparence on the SE you can call it BA, but im sure it hasnt been cheap for him. I kinda feel in same boat as him considering both our cars are same color and have similar mods, hes got me beat on the whole spoiler though.

lol geez We already talk about that for MPG before. It is government test. They drive hard like all impatient drivers normally do. Mine is pretty different way and my car do make it for 500 mileages in full gas of tank. Remember my new exhaust systems help lot. I will have cold air intake soon. All things that my SE don't have is leather seat (If I own gt/p model with leather seat then I would get rid of it for 04+ leather seat), HUD (why need it? It is clearly on my gauge), heat switch (I do have wire for it but need install switch), digital DIC (I can use old school math for mpg), lower molding door & side skirt (got for 24 buck from junk yard), rear gt/p bumper, and dual exhaust. I'm pretty happy the way my car look like. I know I'm not only one have 3100 engine with some gt/p body. There are other member who have it on other website. 3100 is staying in my car no matter what. My car don't race like every gt/p blew tranmission at drag track. Oh don't forgot famous 3800 engine fire recall. lol Both cars fire are from my local junk yard.

Crispy GP's,Palsut the only person that has to like your car is you so if it makes you happy great, and do'nt take the ribs about the 3100 personally it's not a bad little motor and if your not into performance it will work just fine, have you ever been to the drags? maybe if you went you'd catch the bug ,anyway enjoy your car the exterior looks great you just need a little bling under the hood!Chico(pops)

I guess 0-60 in few seconds count? This one where I went. If I want to go drag race on my car. I don't want to be like this person. So I will pass this drag race and stick it for car show only http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_00hV8gTz4 or this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0dnxgzMabuI Don't worry. My SE engine will have a new look.
