I'm not that concerned if the tires stick out a little.

To be honest I'm not to sure what offset you should be looking for. I just remember that that was the important thing. Might want to do a search for offset over at clubgp and see what it comes up with.

hey GTP 40th, i gave you a web site to check out earlier. it has two colums current & planned. just punch in your numbers and it will compare the two combos. you can try different offsets, wheel widths. it will also tell you speedo error, rpms, plus a bunch of other good stuff. give it a TRY, before you BUY. http://gs.tolan-hoechst. GOOD LUCK, P'CHOP

How will the offsets indicate what wheel to buy?

I have 245/35/20's on my 98 GT with stock springs and i have NO problems with turning handling ect. i did notice though with 4 or 5 people in the car every once i a blue moon on the highway they rub ever so slightly. I am gonna put on 255/35/20. I have a friend that has 255/35/20's on his GP-GT with no problems.

Hey Kwiksilver & friends...what do You Think would be the Perfect size rims to fit 2 rear 255's? I am Planning on going with some 18's though, I Only seem to find them at in 7.5 wide.
I would Assume that to fit a 255 tire, I would need a much Wider rim,...or, am I Mistaken? I realize that they wouldn't provide the type a Traction & Advantage, a on a RWD...but, I Think they will Look Great, & provide Stability in the rear Any how. It's just that this Matching of Tires & Rims...has Proven to be quite a "Mind Boggling & Evelasting Quest"...in finding what Fits & What doesn't.
So, Any Help would be Greatly Appreciated!

Just caught sight of this thread...
I'm running 255/45/17's on mine with an 8" wide rim. The offset is 35 and it puts them at just about right position in the wheel well.
You are also going to have to watch your sidewall height to make sure you'll have a similar overall diameter tire.
If you're not lowering the car it will be fine with the above offset. On the other hand if you lower the car, you might have to roll the fenders to avoid rubbing.
Now this is just my opinion, but I wouldn't run anything bigger than an 18" wheel. But like I said, this is just my opinion.

Chew hasn't been around in a long time. This thread was brought back from the dead. Check Slick's post, he's more current... Originally posted by SlickGTP: Just caught sight of this thread...
