OK, so 99% of the time, my trans feels solid.

but after I back up, and come to a complete stop, and put it in drive and start to take off, the trans kinda "stutters" for a few seconds. I just let off the gas, and then get on the gas again (lightly) and its fine.

It doesn't do this every time either. but it has happened a few times now.

any ideas or concerns?

Is it like you have to gas it a little more then usual or is it just hesitating to go? Does it feel like your driving and stick shift in first gear at a light and u pull off the clutch too fast and not enough gas then you put the clutch in more and it seems to shutter onward?

no its not slipping, but it does slightly have the clutch "chatter" feel. but as soon as that occurs, I left off the gas, and then its fine again.

my car pulls hard, nice tight shifts.

I am wondering if it could be a lazy servo or something, since it is ONLY after going from reverse to forward. and not every time.

my car has 160k miles on it, original trans so it wouldn't surprise me if something was acting up.

but like I said, no slipping and it shifts perfect otherwise.

well i have 90k and when i shit from like park to reverse or park to drive or any combo like that it makes like a "dropping sensation and seems not smooth " its kinda hard to explain it but any body see what im sayin? ?? but idk what all this is

I bet you have trashed motor/ trans mounts.

I need those as well.

I am paying the price for the previous owner not taking the best care of the car. but once all these things are done, it will be good to go for quite a while.

soon I will have all the small things ironed out, and if something big goes (most likely trans before motor) I won't feel so bad about putting in another one.

it is when you have like 10 minor things wrong , and a major thing happens, you kind of lose interest in fixing it anymore.

How exactly does one sh$t from park to reverse??

Maybe cv axle joints?...

Not his fault his grand prix scares the sh$t right put of him every time he puts it gear. Too much for him to handle. :p

if it was the cv joints, it would not be intermittent.

my car has no other issues right now.

I am pretty confident that the problem is in the trans.

maybe I am wrong though, I wouldnt be upset if I was wrong :rolleyes:

Yah, 160k on stock trans, I am sure it is saying I need a resurrection.

my first GT had the original trans, and 220k miles on it!

I ahve the same problem and i have 02 gt with 37K.Shop didnt understand the problem and ofcourse the car didnt do it when the mechanic was looking at it.

is yours intermittent too? or is it doing it frequently?
