My winter car actually have one from previous owner. Gotta thank to them. It does help lot. I don't see any rusty under it. Just some rusty tailpipe which it is normal for north weather. I do have little rusty where bottom side is for jack point if you get flat tire. Of course it was not on coating but rest of under car is great. If I buy new car and keep it rest of my car then under coating will be my 1st mind to start before it is reach winter season.

Any quality rubberized undercoating will do the job just get under there with a wire brush and clean up any loose crap and take your time do a section at a time.Chico(pops)

The trouble is the paintable cracks and lets moisture in the result more rust under the undercoating ,wereas the rubberized bends and stretches with movement and is less suseptable to cracking.Chico(pops)

The ashfalt UC stays sticky but the rubberized dries up dry to the touch the paintable UC is usually used on the rockerpanels and such.
