hi, im new. but i own a 1997 grand prix GT, its in the process of being front and rear bumpers De-ribbed, trunk lock shaved, and door ding protectors removed. its all done. onyy thing left is sand sand sand sand. lol. and prep and prime. then couple coats of base then 3 coats clear. i will have pics up in a couple hours to give yall a preview of the car. sorry for the teaser . and.... im paint the car a black metallic, but i wanna do a diff color of the faisca. any suggestions on a color?

id say silver or just leave them black and do red accents!

do the front and rear fascia's a flat black.

That's what i'm doing anyways. Black with some nice flake and then flat black fascia's.

lol. im sorry. i know its a teaser. but the paint im going with is really nice. has a really nice look to it. im really leaning toward and silver mist silver. or leaving it all black. but the flat black sounds good. idk we will have to see. but only 12 more minutes till im off from work. YES!!

It may look different but I don't see why you would do it? But then again I like the body detail thats on front/rear bumper, goes with everything else and isnt plain. As far as shaving door handles I think thatd be ok (maybe shoulda idk) but the best looking would be just getting rid of that horrid key hole on back of trunk lid, but its always nice to have that just in case ur trunk couldnt pop or something. Either way i'd like to see some really good pics of it so I can see what it looks like. Not a fan of the front/rear bumper rib removal though.

yeah everyone has there own opinion of what looks better. and i understand that. lol. but i didnt shave the door handels. just the door ding protectors. and the trunk lock. i gotta finishing snading and priming today. and pressure wash and dry and sand a little more then pressure spray again. but i went with a black mettallic and a silver metallica to go on the bottom faisca's. should look killer. doing 3coats color and 3 coats clear. then wetsend and polish. should look good. also preping the dash and console thing for paint and the dog bones and braces. soon as i can find this dang camera ill snap some good pics. but thanks for your input

lol i know. its very messy. but hey i am a 17 year old student. but hey we alll get over it. hasnt been vaccumed it forever! but thanks! and i would love to get my hands on to regal seats but i've been biding on a set of 04 leather seats. but if i dont get them i wanna find a set of cheap regal seats. and palsut i love your car. even tho its a SE it looks killer. by the end i wanna have a f1 or SD hood and the SLP Gen 1 spoiler.

I have seen Regal seat at Moard's place. Not bad looking seat. Good luck on bid for 04 leather seat. You will going to love it like I did today if you seen my thread about install them. Thank you. I know it is SE but I love my appearance look much better. If you want to get SD or F1 hood then you don't need work on stock hood

yes i saw it and will be looking at it very soon. yeah your car looks killer but you need the lower trim to make it complete. i dont have the funds at the moment thats why im going ahead and preping it for paint. but im saving as we speak for it and the spoiler. and i have 300 bucks left to spare and im ordering projectors with hids and putting hids in my fogs. then ill be out of funds. lol. but untill next time.....

im not feeling it, you've eliminated all the characteristics of the grand prix body from the body. it looks like a Buick.

But damn, that's custom as hell. throw some 17s in chrome and you are ballin.

I hope you had the holes welded in and not just bondo'd over.

I've seen many a paint job ruined from that short cut.

they were welded over and so was the trunk lock. it is going in for primer and paint today

thank you. im going with just a black mettalic and a silvermist on the lower faiscas, new 04gp seats are going in. im redoing the headliner, and the door panels, having my dash and console painted to match my car and also having my rims powdercoated black. i ordered ssc springs, and new kyb struts, and im still debating onto order projectors with hids or go with stock capsules with hids. then going to have to save some more money and get my a SD hood and slp gen 1 spoiler.

Sounds like it will come out very nice.

You can always get later, molded in or not it's still sexy and IMO is the best appearance mod.

yeah true. im really wanting the SD or F1 hood and a slp gen 1 spoiler. the SD wing looks to darn big. i love the slp gen 1 because its bigger then stock but yet has smooth lines.

I wish I had the time, tools, skills and most importantly MONEY to do something like this. Nice work and I am anxious to see it all finished up.

time and tools is the most important. skill is a factor, but as a 17 year old i think im doing pretty well. but i have been around this stuff since i was 5 so kinda helps me out. this whole project i have done on my own, it hasnt cost me a WHOLE LOT of money but a little for the materials and tools. (most tools i had) i havee been painting since i was like 12, but this will be the 1st car im doing from scratch, prime is being layed today. will post pics after prime.

update. just got done priming her up. put 2 coats on just to be safe. and one coat sealer. started sanding with 800 but im getting tired so i decided to give it a rest and wait till tomorrow afternoon. will post pics tomrrow. sorry guys im a lazy a** lol

Don't know if this has been said or not, but for your next appearance mod, GET RID OF THE CRAPPY HEADLIGHT!!

lol i know i know. projectors are on the way with 6000k hids, so it will be all coming together shortly.
