Hi,
After all i got a new tranny from a totalled GP.
The insurance company tried to fix the car they got a new tranny and engine, then they realize that the car was more damaged of the body, so they totalled it.
So my mechanic could get the tranny for 350 usd, and guess what, the eternal leaks and weird shifting is over, my baby is like new!!!
So my mechanic told me that the new tranny is 4T60E but the valve body is a little bit different, he calls it "improved", is this possible??

Anyway i'm gonna sell my car, but just want to share this.

I think GM used that tranny in the previous-gen 3.8L cars (and maybe on the 97s?). I'm guessing it may not be as strong as the 65's... but I wouldn't worry about it with a GT.
Glad to hear this may be the end of your troubles.

The 4T60-E was used in SEs and GTs in 97. The GTP got the 4T65-E HD. After that, SEs and GTs got the 4T65-E and the GTP got the 4T65-E HD. The 4T60-E is electronicly and vacumm controlled, while the 65 is fully electronic.

I did hear about some changes made to the 4T60-E to make it last longer, but I thought it was in sometime in 96. Perhaps your car had a 4T60-E made earlier...like GM had a stock pile and started throwing them into cars. That'd be my best guess.
