Does places like Oreilys or Napa carry 02 sensors for 04+ GTP's? Even after soaking my 02 in pb blaster and letting it sit over night it won't budge. Tried for hours getting it off and just going to give in and get a new one. I will need this part soon though so I need to get it tomorrow if possible (why I'm wanting to go local with my purchase).

yes. I forget which brand people say to avoid, I want to say it's Bosch (even though that's the kind I'm using, crazy )

You need to heat it up to get it out.

Go with a new AC Delco o2.

Here's the AC Delco numbers, if you want to find them locally:

Front O2 Sensor: 213-1553
Rear O2 Sensor: 213-1641

Two places that carry AC Delco parts in your area:

Advance Stores Inc #6097
510 S Duff Ave
Ames, IA
(515) 233-1450

Central Auto Supply
1920 E Lincoln Way
Ames, IA
(515) 233-0071

Hope that helps!

450 ft/lb 1/2" drive impact + (2) 1/2" drive extensions + 1/2" swivel socket = win.

LOL, mine came right out when I did it, no heat or cheater bar required. Took MAYBE 100 ft/lb.

Can you run just a bolt in where the 02 goes?..or is the 02 a must? If it only throws an SES light I'm not concerned about that. Any thoughts?

Front O2 is a must. Rear doesn't matter. I disabled the rear O2 codes in my PCM and I don't run it anymore. Front one is essential for rich/lean adjustments.

One caveat with rear o2's, certain years will attempt to run a diagnostic continuously that dumps fuel if you don't have it in place. It is watching for extra fuel to cause the rear o2 to follow rich. I think it's 01+ that are affected. Not sure if the 04+ fall in this category as well, I will inquire.

I'll go purchase a bosch and play it safe. I can get one and it won't be too big of a deal.

Ended up not needing an 02 as the ZZP 3" Downpipe's that are catless do not come with them. I got the downpipe on successfully. Good times:D

My 3.6 MPS came as well today.

What do you mean you dont need it? Isnt there a threaded bung in right after where the cat would be? I would still run that, who knows about the 01+ cars.

The only thing the rear o2 does is read the cat. If there is no cat, the purpose of having the rear o2 no longer exist. Get a plug in spoof or have the codes removed from the PCM

Lies

Its more than that, its in the tune. If you do that you'll be running a 10.5:1 AFR all day long.

00 and older rear O2 doesn't do that.

It's not in the tune, it has no affect on closed loop operation. Where it causes problems is in the later year cars that command open loop in order to test that the rear o2 is functioning properly.
