Hey, my friends and I have had the idea this summer to visit some of the war memorials this summer (can't think of any other way to describe them). We hit the second one yesterday. It was the San Jacinto monument, marking the location of the final battle for Texas independence, and the U.S.S. Texas, a battleship that fought in WWI and WWII. Anyway, I had the idea yesterday of getting a picture of my car with the location we're visiting in the background. Check this out: Haven't decided if we'll revisit the first place we went or not, it was just a sub and destroyer escort. They're about an hour from where I live, and while they're interesting, I don't know if they're worth a second trip like that battleship is. What do you think of the pics? (Oh, btw, I promise, those tire marks on the ground were already there when we arrived, I just happened to park by them for the picture. lol)

nice pics, sry to be off topic, but has anyone put in an aftermarket sun roof??? i really like the look there is a shop around where i got my windows tinted (which i hate bcuz i got that for my 16th b-day and i wanted it darker, but i still like it, hypocritical i know) i think they do sunroofs for 180 maybe that might have just been window tinting, anybody done that?

I know that's not the greatest angle for the car, but the reason I did it at that angle is to hide this: Of course, I got all the mud and crap off, but I haven't bought a new bumper yet, so it still looks like crap...

I was gonna say I love that color, especially in those shots, till you ruined it with that front end shot!

I've got to say, I have completely fallen in love with the way my car looks. Well, in any direction but the front. Give me another month, though, and it'll be fixed. The roof rails, the spoiler, the rims, the hood, the quad exhaust, etc. etc...it's my car, I haven't even begun to mod it yet, and I STILL can't stop drooling over it...I feel very lucky to have her. lmao But yea, my friends and I thought the spinning guns were pretty cool too. I got a couple shots looking down the iron sites of those things, pretty interesting. For those of you who just enjoy things like battleships, this is the coolest picture I took...well, without my car in it, anyway.

I'm trying to organize a road trip between me and a few friends down to the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, but someone always seems to have an excuse when I try to get all of us together...

Hey Ace,
Where you located? The local gp club meets up in Tomball if you're anywhere remotely close.

Ah, cool... I live in Tomball but work in Clear Lake, so I know just about where all the major locations are in the area. Mod Days are every 3rd Saturday of the month. Generally speaking we hang out work on cars when needed and have a good time. As far as what type of work... It can range from replacing lightbulbs to engine swaps. Engine swaps need the approval of the hosting member though.
