a shop wont be able to match the color of your car 100% when you mix up paint they make it blendably close and i dont know how well you will be able to run paint in a rattle can over the hole hood because since its such a large area you will get zebra stripes, but if you do decide to repaint it
run 320 soft pad DA over the hole hood then if you have pits or chips you can fade them out or use glazing putty not body filler glazing putty sands better and it goes on smoother. then if you do have to putty then block the spots with 320 grit then soft pad 600 the hole hood then wax and grease remover then mask off areas toutch up skuffing your edges and then a coupple coats of self etch primer then just a reg primer surfacer if you need to block the primer then you use sealer then you can go with your paint

Whats the cheapest hood with scoops in it because like me every penny counts (WS6 scoop, etc.)

How about doing something cheap and custom, like heat extractors, or covering up a bad blend with stripes or decals? Your paint will be hard to match, golds and silvers (and variations like bronze) always are.

Y'know what, my birthday is in about a week... (Febuary 8th)
Maybe I can scrounge up some dough and get a hood.
I think as much as I like the WS6 hood, it will be too gaudy looking on my SE body. I think the F.1 hood is low-profile enough that it wouldn't look too bad.
Now, the one on PFYC, that's ram-air right?
Could I modify my existing airbox to use that? I mean, the SLP air box is nothing but a normal air box with a hole in the top right?
Then I could just get a drop-in style K&N filter and get rid of that gaudy HAI...

I agree the W6 hood would be a little much on an SE,and do'nt forget any hood you buy will still require painting (around $500) and unless you have experience trying to bond on hood scoops will probably not turn out good, another option is to go with the carbon fiber cowl hood from W-Body store you would'nt need to paint it ,if you do decide to work on your own hood and paint take the hood off and put it on saw horses, you can rent spray equipment and paint yourself although a hood is a difficult first project and in your case I would use a single stage paint.Chico(pops)

If you do decide to replace the hood, Ed Morad still has the Special Edition one for sale; just another option to consider...

http://www.grandprixforums.net/f11/hoods-683.html This link is about a guy that is going to start building hoods, he's doing it for about 200 to 250 a hood, no taxes and that's before shipping... he sounds like he'd be a guy to look into, he's doing F1, ASCD, and WS6 i dont know if u can get on this site... but join it it's a good one too, just not as good this one

None of the "ram-air" hoods are going to get you any performance gain. They dont do much of anything, pretty much a looks thing

i didnt find anything i like on ebay ... i should try to find a hood and mold a old school scoop into it such as this
http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/tf-Browse/s-10101/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2010323/p-2010323/N-111+10201+600002538/c-10101
i should be on the lookout for a hood now
