Your welcome Bobby. I would rather see it go to someone that would take care of it and not be traded in with my car for some punk kid to ruin. I miss it already. LOL I want visitation rights to it...LOL
Congrats....you deserved it

I've got to do some adjusting on it to get it to close better. I'm going to take the grills off and clean up the openings a little, and paint the grills black. There's sonething in the hood, not sure if it's a screw driver, wrech or what, but I'm going to try and fish that out. Then I need to mark my air box and work on getting the air box and hood sealed together when closed, and now I have a good reason to ditch my engine cover... heat extractors! ...and the color is just a tad off, appearently the white used on 99 GTP's are different than the white used on 99 SE's. Chris' car has just a tad bit more blue to it than mine.

I got it all aligned up and the grills painted black. It looks much better. I'll have to get some new pics done real soon.

I had to cut a hole in my airbox so the opening on the underside of the hood lines up with the hole in the airbox. I had the front grills off last night, doing a little cleaning up on the openings, I noticed the bottom part of the hood is not sealed up properly with the top side of the hood. As I looked inside the front openings I could see the openings for the heat extractors. Air just flows in the front and right out the back. I doubt any of the air is actually making it into the airbox, but for the price I paid, who cares.

It is functional in extracting heat. It does help in cooling. It does not come functional as a ram air setup. Austin G T P is right. You will have to create a hole for that.
I decided not to make mine ram air functional. Its only going to give me 1-2 hp at 70+ mph.
I am VERY, VERY happy I made this purchase. So I can imagine how Austin G T P is.

My hole was already cut. I want to cut it open a little more. I already cut a hole in my airbox. Built up around the hole with some reflectix and foil tape. I reached up in my airbox from the fender well and I can stick my fingers right in the hood. Next I want to get some of that foam insulation in a can and see if I can seal that hood up a little better. I think if I take off the extractor grills, I can get to most everywhere I need to. I don't think I'll be able to seal it up completly, but I can get it a heck of a lot better than what it is now.

I gotta get new pics. One of my tires had a bolt in it and it was beyond repair. Now I gotta limp around on my spare for the next 7-10 days till my tire comes in.

wow, that does look pretty cool. I like the White and Black colors on your GP. I did hear that it was alil tricky and not worth it to make Ram Air hoods functional. I don't think that I would make a hole in my airbox just for a 1-2 Hp gain at 70 mph, (kudos Tasty). Personally, I kinda like the SD hood a wee bit better then the F.1 style. The SD is the one Tasty has. (Pic from PFYC.com)

The way I see it, I now have more air flowing in my air box, from behind the headlight, from the fender well, and now from the hood. Not sure if I'm getting a ram air effect in the air box, or suction from out of the air box, due to the air flowing in and out of the hood. If I am getting a suction effect, that's fine with me because then it's pulling more air in from the headlight and fenderwell. As I see it, I'm in a win-win situation. Either way I've got more airflow through my air box, and that can't hurt anything.
