I had unplug the battery positive cable because I wanted to reset everything but when I screwed it back in, the screw would not go in all the way and I started the car and it popped, its not getting a good connection. the mechanic said the screw is stripped, how in the hell I stripped the screw that quick and never had a problem with it since I own this car.

Is is hard to replace this screw and can I go to autozone, advanced auto, etc to replace this bolt.

It's the lead threads on the battery. Without actually looking at your battery you may have to replace the battery.

I went to change the battery in mine a couple of years ago the positive lead on the battery was so corroded the whole thing came out of the battery leaving a hole in the battery. Should have seen the mess it made trying to get the battery out. I had to cut the cable end off and replace it as well.

So your saying I have to replace the battery, you sure!

I see what your saying but I will look at the threads inside the battery tonight and I will let you know how it looks.

If the threads inside your batter aren't stripped then they sell battery post bolts at autozone for a couple bucks.

i see alot of ppl come in with that problem, one guy thought of a really good solution, a bigger bolt. though he had to make the cable end hole bigger too. worth a shot i guess, but i would get a all new setup if the battery is more than 3 years old. especially if its a duralast.

Yes its a energizer battery and I plan to upgrade to a yellow top optima because I'm getting a sound system installed this spring, I thought about just replaceing it anyway since I bought it in 2007 of spring.

depending on how big of a system, take a look at Braille batteries.

Well I will have 2 12" Alpine type R subs and I have 1 amp which push out 350 watts and I'm going to get 2 more amps for the subs maybe 2 500 watt subs so I should be pushing like 1300-1500 watts total. Do you have a website for this braille batteries, I know the yellow top optima batteries are good for sound systems according to some websites I look up.
