Im surpized this hasnt been really brought up here. ZZP is making a M90 supercharger kit for the L36. Should pretty much just bolt right on. Its not out yet, but its got me pretty excited! I cant wait to see it when its all released. I figure if you can do it all for $1,000 to $1,500 its probably worth it. I should start saving up. Im thinking you will need to upgrade the tranny for the higher torque. But i really need to do a few other mods anyways. When i get my next paycheck im gonna take it in to get the U-bend deleted. And im gonna get the $420 dollar Dynomax Cat-Back on PFYC.com

It has been brought up.

Still would go down the turbo route.

I've brought it up a few months ago. I'm doing the kit as soon as it comes out.
I contacted ZZP and they did the M90 for me already, then I sent it off to be powdercoated.
They also did the intake manifold and modular pulley.
The only thing I need to do is wait for the powdercoater, and get fuel rails and install kit from ZZP.
I'm going to run it fairly conservatively, so I don't have to worry about my tranny as much.

Wouldn't you have to modify the compression ratio to use the M90 efficiently? How about the tranny? What else?

I'm not sure how they are handling the CR issue. Maybe bigger pulleys? and lots of KR killing mods. Tranny would need upgrading as well. At least the input and output shafts at a minimum.

Most chain type places won't touch it cause technically you are altering the cat. Best bet is to use a local shop.

I was just playing with some numbers for the M90 kit
1. Kit $175
2. Ported Intake Manifold $75 (+100 Core)
3. Fuel logs $379
4. Pulleys and Belt $150 maybe? i dont really know
5. M90 brand new $600, i was thinking maybe i could get a used one or something for cheaper but...

So all together about $1,300. Not bad.

With stock injecters and a 4.2 pulley will give about 40hp and 40 ft. lbs of torque.

Im sure you can get more by upgrading injectors, smaller pulley etc.

Hello,

I'm curious....

Is the manifold they sell set up for injectors?

Just wondering, because if it's an L67 Manifold, you are going to need heads.
The injectors on a SuperCharged engine are in the Heads. NA engines have injectors in the Manifold.

Later now,
Clint

this will answer your question "In your L36 engine the injectors fire into the intake manifold. In an L67 the injectors fire into the heads. The L36 engine in your car has different heads than a GTP which is why you need our modified intake" -ZZP

Those numbers are about right. The kit comes with the belt, and for the pulley you'd be getting a modular pulley system with 4.2 pulley, $140.

As far as compression ratio, it should work out since they're starting with a 4.2" pulley. A 4" in available as well, but you'd need bigger injectors and some other good modding probably.

Helping handle the higher compression is also some changes they're doing to the M90 for flow, helping with KR.

Anyways, I am getting my stuff from the powdercoater tomorow! Now I just have to wait for the snout rebuild and ZZP's kit to come out. I'll post some pictures of the M90 once its together.

I also have the GM parts direct suspension upgrade kit.

Transmission upgrades, well thats next on the list, if I can get to it. I'm trying to save up for the trans am ws6! It looks like differential would be the best idea to start with unless you can fork over a larger amount.
But if you're spending a bunch of money beefing up a tranny, might as well have spend another $1500 and got a turbo for it, haha!

4.2" pulley. That's how they get around the CR issue. GTPs use a 3.8".
