Yep, thas what I did. Just save up for a K&N, Thrasher, or Wiz Air intake kit best way to go in the end.

Nope. I had a thrasher as my first mod. Biggest waste of 250 bucks I have ever spent. I sold it for 125 and spent 25 bucks at home depot

shaner, adding a length of straight pipe isn't going to help.

If you push the filter toward the front of the car, you may get some cooler air (you're compromising between a HAI and a FWI). However, the longer the intake pipe, and the more bends there are, and the more severe those bends, the worse you will flow air. IMO, you should either go with a HAI with a 45degree bend, and a very short length of PVC; or, a designer CAI (expensive); or, a FWI (longer piping, colder air). Its debatable which is best, I think the HAI has the most potential, but if you're in a lot of stop-and-go conditions where your underhood temps are getting really high, you may do better on average with a CAI or FWI.

ZZP tech articals say the the stock air box on the '99 and up GTP is designed suffentiantly enough and maybe just a K&N filter is the way to go. Any takers here?

call me Shane haha .. and yeah i do :p i saw a pic of it .. i have one question though since we're still on topic *YAY*

When i turn my car on in the morning .. there is a loud .. idk like air sucking noise coming from my engine at idle .. when i give it some gas it sounds normal with the zing of the intake.

Any reason why it would make this loud(er) noise? After the engine heats up (like 3 minutes) its fine.

Yep, all of the aftermarket intakes make that noise. I personally love it. A lot of guys hate it
