I recently experienced a problem where my brakes would vibrate when coming to complete stops and my "Trac Off" would come on when the car was hot. I took it into the dealership by my house and the mechanic told me I had a bad left front wheel hub. I got it replaced for about $300 and the problem went away for 2 weeks. Early this week, the problem began again. I took it into the shop once again and I was told that my TCM goes bad when hot and that it will cost nearly $1200 to replace.

Does this sound right?
And if so, is there any way I could get the part for cheaper?

Thanks, Coffee.

The only time I ever needed the T/C is in the snow. If you don't have snow to deal with Have it deleted.

About how much do you think I would be charged to have that deleted. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who owns a powertuner personally.

Thanks.

One last question, if I get rid of TC, will ABS still work?

I would think so.
It looks that all that product does it send a little pulse to whatever the TCS switch is connected to, 10 seconds after start.
And I know my ABS works with the TCS off from playing around with it in the snow.

The TCS is tied into the ABS. It uses the ABS sensor to detect low traction. So the ABS will work without T/C but T/C will not work without ABS.
