The GTX was not a factory option it was an SLP after market add on package and there were different levels ,as a side note you could get a GTX package on a GT .Chico.

i think that the GTX was a factory option for a limited time. It was only after it was discontinued that SLP started making the conversion kits. I will find the link The SLP Grand Prix GTX will feature the same twin-NACA Ram Air hood design as appeared on the 300 Grand Prix GPX show car. http://www.grandprix.net/limited/gtx_article.html

That's not for the GTX. MPD made the F.1, which is far rarer. IIRC, there are only six. That's their fender flare kit made to copy the GPX, not the GTX. The GPX was a GP prototype. Edit: GTX was always through SLP. And yes, the GTX conversion was available for the GT too. When it comes down to it, GTX is mostly just an appearance thing.

All it was is exterior cues (hood, spoiler, rims, exhaust tips) and the SLP RamAir intake.

Arcxnus has been doing some reading.
The GTX was a modified Grand Prix that had the only "factory authorized" modifications that could be made to the Grand Prix.
There was a base GTX model that came with the SLP Hood, 3.5" Pulley(if applicable), SLP Air Box, and badges. From there you could add anything from rims to racing stripes.
I would own a GTX, but the 2 salesmen I dealt with didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about it.... I figured it was an East Coast thing and bought my GTP. 2 weeks later I went to the dealer for my free oil change and was talking to another salesman. I told him what I was really wanting was the GTX, but noone seemed to know anything about it..... He walked to a computer and in less than a minute had all the information I was requesting 2 weeks earlier..... Oh well... I saved several thousands of dollars because the base GTX was something like $3500 extra.... Not worth the money for sure, but I still wish I had the GTX.
