Ok, I'm considering upgrading my handling as my next mod, but I'm a little confused. Does the GMPP Handling Kit contain the GMPP Sway Bars ?

I was looking at those, and I was looking at ZZP\'S Strut Tower Braces . I'd be willing to pay extra for those if you guys think they are lighter, stronger, and worth it.

I guess just tell me what I should buy, and I'll take it into serious consideration. lol

After this, my next mod will be a new DP probably.

Yes the GMPP handling kit comes with the sways.

I'm confused on those StreetShaker.
Where the stb connects to the bracket via the two bolt heads you see, where are the nuts on the other side to hold it on? It lies flat on that strut tower area.

Too me, that seems like less support then drilling into the tower like I have it.
The more hardware and bolts used like that, in my eyes, seems like less stregth. More ways for movement and such. Therefore, less productive.

Yeah, if its tapped, doesn't look like much length for the bolt to grab at all. There are other brackets that are raised up off the tower where the STB connects, those seem like they would be comparable to drilling.

Don't spend 90 dollars on brackets when all you have to do it drill a few holes.

You can see the sway bars in the picture of the GMPP kit. They are included. The kit also comes with one strut tower brace, just get one other one used on clubgp or something for the rear (if you want it)

Took me all of 5 minutes to drill the four holes and tighten the nuts to the bolts!

So, you guys think I should just get the GMPP kit (plus rear STB), and not bother with the ZZP STBs?

if you want the aft STB, and I do end up winning the bid for SpeedBuilt STBs, would you like my spare GMPP STB? Never installed, still has a bunch of tape from when I received it.

I bought a pair of nice brushed-finish aluminum STB brackets on clubgp for $10-15 a while ago. Any more expensive than that, and I would just drill it. I didn't want to weaken that area in the future when the car is a rustbucket.

By the way, if you want handling improvement you will definetly want some stiff lowering springs, and low-profile tires/wheels.

I have that ZZP stb you linked to Ace. I like it alot. No drilling or brackets needed. Goes great with their mathching crossbraces

These are what I put on my GP. Seemed to help a lot. Of course my old stock front sway bar cracked at the eyelet for the links. Of course I have noticed a squeak coming from the drivers rear now in this really cold spell we are having. Will look at it when it gets warmer.

lol. You must have done a lot of shopping around. Do they clean the house when they aren't making your car handle better?

I think what I'm going to do is wait until I get my W-2 at the end of the month, and figure out how much I get back in taxes. Then, when I get that money, spend it all on car parts. I can probably get the GMPP kit and a new DP...

Rick, the exception to that would be if you were to sell me the STB. It might have to wait until my next paycheck, MAYBE, but other than that, I'd got ahead and take if off your hands and just keep it until everything else got here.

Ya they were expensive. I went with the thickest ones I could find. They are 1/8 inch larger in the rear and 3/16 inch approximately larger in the front compared the gmpp ones. No not really worth the extra money, but I wanted them.

So, I just spent the better part of an hour and fifteen minutes looking for JUST the fwd STB. Cant find it. IIRC I paid 150 USD for the GMPP kit. That came with 2 sways, an STB, and 2 trailing arms. I WANT 50 USD for the fwd STB by itself, but that would be ridiculous. Lets say 20 bucks, and you handle the fuel it takes for me to get down there?

The rear trailing arms help handling quite a bit these can be bought seperately,as far as the sway bars you can save your money the factory sway bars will do if you replace the end links and mid way bushing with poly .Chico(pops)

It is pretty easy to install. If I have drill skill then I probably would do that but I have zero skill for that. I hate to mess it up myself so I just get bracket to save my mistake.

the part number for just the sway bar is listed on the page with the GMPP package, not hard to find at all....

I like them, but for the price, I'm going to bust out the drill and do some labor. I know some guys swing off the nuts of Don Rome, but they are just too expensive. I guess if you are going to make an all out show car you might do it?

It was little cheap last year which I got it. This year, he increase the price little bit. Like I say I don't have drill skill so this bracket work for me.

I thought you said rear STB? I'm confused. lol But that sounds like a reasonable price to me.

And guys, what I've decided to do is (with the exception of what I get from Rick) I'm going to wait on buying anything until I get my tax return. Then, I'll blow that whole load on car parts. Handling kit, DP, etc. Can't wait!

The STB that I have is marketed as forward, however I heard tale say that they are also adequate for the aft towers as well. If someone wants to correct me here, please do.

Me and the wife are going to be down in the Woodlands this weekend for an official training event/military "prom". We should have at least one evening to meet up with you. That would be an excellent opportunity to hand off the STB. More to follow.

Cool, I'm off Saturday & Sunday, so the timing is good. Some friends and I are going to the range to fire off some rounds sometime during the day on Saturday, but those are the only plans I have at the moment.

palsut you're killing me! You don't need any "skill" to drill a hole! Mark where you want it, tap it with a screwdriver to make a dent, place drill bit in dent and start drilling! It's really not that hard!

Well, I'm not only one have that brackets. There are 15+ members from other sites got brackets. Everyone is different. Some like brackets for bolt in. Some like to drill it. I like easy job for bolts.
