New member here. I am replacing the O2 sensor on my wife's 99 GP SE 3.1. I have done this in the past on my Grand Cherokee with no trouble. My question is can someone give me a write-up on how to do it for the GP. I haven't been able to find the sensor yet, and any help would be great. Thanks .

which one are you replacing, the 1st or 2nd?

the 2nd one will be in the ubend of the piping behind the cat. converter. the 1st one is behind the motor around the #6 cylinder. never changed that one, but looks like it would be fun. only replaced the 2nd one though.

this is the way it is on a gtp, guess it'd be the same for the se, other than maybe not having the ubend.

It's the same on the SE. One in the U-bend and one behind the engine.

It is the number one behind the engine it would appear. I hope it isn't that bad. I will be doing this this weekend. Sounds great. I thank you.

And if you have some nice gloves to protect your hands from bumps and scrapes. FYI

The one behind the engine in bay 2 is a pita if I remember right the one on the u-bend is obviously a breeze. Herc suggested a coating for the new o2 as well to protect it but I dont recall what its called, im sure he'll get in on the post to reitterate.

just your garden variety dielectric grease to help keep the water out. Also use some anti-seize when you reinstall the O2 sensor.
