how do u tune for a top swap on a 97? You cant run a 97 gtp file, tranny doesnt want to get out of second. You cant run a gt file cant control the supercharger settings. Is there a way to splice the two types of files together?

PCM doesn't control the SC. The boost bypass is mechanically controlled. Your PCM problems with the GTP and tranny is because the PCM thinks you have 2.94 gearing where the GT has 3.29. I would think that if you have access to a tuner you can change the gear settings in the PCM to know your running 3.29s not 2.94s.

we changed the gear ratio settings but its not engaging the 3rd gear solenoid. i know the pcm doesnt "control" the SC. sorry if i mistyped that but there are settings in a gtp file that you can modify which the gt doesnt have...

Who is doing your tuning for you?

Flash a GTP file to your GT PCM and add the GT tranny settings to it.

Thats exactly what i did with mine. Make sure you got all of the settings flashed on there.

Double check all of your wiring, something might be pinched. Check under the battery, there is a tranny wire that gets pinched a lot, just make sure all of the wires are out from underneath the battery

no! dont add any timing. retard it!!! i cant stress that enough. GT's have much more timing than GTP's for a reason. and dont mess with the fueling, just use GTP settings for fueling if youre running L67 injectors

Yah something isn't hooked up right, you have a 97 and missing something, or there isn't something correct in the tune bin file.

Not you, theone.

A GT with a top swap and increased timing is asking for trouble.
