I never had a problem with my 97 trans. I started with a ZZP tune (which worked fine trans.wise) then I had a dyno tune done ,remember shifting is partially controlled by the vacuum modulator and make sure the modulator is getting vacuum from the LIM not the TB also I would install a new ajustable VM at this time to make sure it's operating properly ask for a modulator from a 96 ssei ,if you can't get things operational contact ZZP and inquire as to their secret.Chico(pops)

youre fine. The 97's have the partly vacuum modulated trannies. We dont have them in the 98+ cars. Ours are electronically controlled

is it worth getting a pre tuned pcm from zzp/whoever or a custom tune?

The VM is located on the top of the tranny. Easy access.

cant use an older file then 96 cause it wasnt OBD2 so thats a no go... if your having probs with the setup... you can Email or pm me a copy of your bin and i'll look over it... my 96 Z has the same 4t60e that you have and i have a good understanding of what the settings should be.

....Theone2043.... can you please break down all the mods you have and the entirety of the swap... like are you runing a 2 bar map? what injectors you are runing, l67 or l36 maf, all the details, even if you have exhaust work ect.... from this and the bin im sure i can get you a file that will get your car runing right... if the kid that is tuning your car has access to internet, you can even have me schedule a time when yoru gonna be doing the tuning... and i can take that time off and we can tuning over the phone and email the file back and forth while you are with the kid. dont stress it will get sorted out and you will have a fun fast efficent ride when done.
