Ok, so I have the plugs and wires, but how should the tool line up ? i mean flat on the little head peice, or alined with the curved part? also a guy at the auto store asked me if i knew this was the the right threading, i said "ummmm i think so" so i took a pic

These are the 104 AL copper core

* so which way should the tool be angeled *

It doesn't get angled. It's supposed to be a slight drag when you pull it out. Preferable while centered over the electrode.

And yes the threads are fine.

close the gaps a bit tighter, then slide the tool in between the electrode and the tip at whatever size fits. Then spin the gapping tool until you get to 0.55 and then pull the tool out from between the electrode and the tip of the plug.

It's going to have to bend up, the tip is basically on a pivot, so for the gap to get bigger the angle is also going to have to get bigger.

That's fine. With that type of tool it's very difficult to get it exact. Also for best plug performance you want the tang to be a parrallel to the electrode as possible.

This is the only way to get an exact gap. And be easy with the tang you don't want to break it off.

I prefer this style for quick checks

Why are you angling the gapper like that? It should be flat. That is wrong.

Flat when taking the measurement? right?
I think he is just showing how to move up the electrode, gap it.

it wont touch the inner circle if you dont have it a little angeled, i dont know how its suppose to be - touching FLAT on the electrode or the prong touching the inner circle ?

it doesn't have to touch the inner circle. It needs to be flat.

Ok look closely at the pic. See how the tang and the electrode are parallel? that's how you want yours to look then when you put your tool in to measure the gap you'll have the same thickness all the way across.

i was just about to take a pic when the camera died, awesome , but with this tool its impossible to get it perfectly parallel to eachother, its gonna move one of the things one way or another

I use the same tool you have. If its off by .001, do you really think its going to matter?

just do like rs said and narrow the gap a fair amount. then spin the gapper and give a little upward pressure to get it out to around .55

im not talking the measurements of the tool, im taking the parallelness ( idk if thats a word) of the hook to the electrode, not the perfect measurement

What? Maybe you should let someone else do it. The gapper goes from small do big. Get it so the distance is around .050-.055 (Mine are at .052).

yea, i cleary understand for the 5th time. YOU said the tange has to be parallel to the electrode, it cant be if the measurement is at .55 is what im saying, or did i do something wrong ?

It won't be perfect, you are right, they won't QUITE be parallel, just do the best you can.
