Which transmissions do one-wheel burn-outs?

I actually don't know what tranny I have anymore.

My car does 2 wheel burn-outs. It used to be part of a rental fleet so I think there is some justification for it having a stronger tranny.

Would my VIN be any help in finding out my tranny?

All of the GP tranny will do one wheel burn-outs, if you were to turn the whell even alittle bit when doing a burnout only one wheel will spin, so the key is to keep the wheels as striaght as possible. Also i dont recommend doing any burnouts with any tranny, unless its Race built b/c the tranny doesn't like it.

Yeah, I could be wrong, but I think any FWD car without a LSD has the potential to do one wheelies.

And a rental car has the exact same components. No beefed up parts.

I thought we had that topic about LSD's a little while back... unless you get the Quaife Torsen diff its not worth it

ZZP and their customer's cars all use a stock diff (from the HD tranny) and they can do 2-wheel burnouts. Just keep the wheels straight. When I JUST got my stock GT I was able to do 2-wheel burnouts with the parking brake on. Now that I have power, I've easily done accidental 2-wheel burnouts.

stock diff (this isn't me):

Haha fog light I'm guessing.

disclaimer:
Doing burnouts is definetly not recommended and WILL eventually kill your tranny. The guys with the stock diffs running high numbers have differential squirters to shoot fluid inside. I guess that does the trick.

Sweet, thanks for the info. Since drummerboy used past tense, I wasn't sure if he meant they USED to come with it or not.

Bill,

How'd you find that pic?

That's a member of PDXCGP. '98 GTP, Stock Tranny with a stock differential. He spent a pair of used DR's after 3 times to the track doing burnouts like that. He gained a fan base at the same time. He's not so aggressive with his new tires.... wink
