Well... I got my trunk badge overlay in this morning, and although there was nothing that said the "RED" overlay was reflective, it is. I don't want reflective. I'm using it because I have to have it to complete things for the car show I'm going to be in, but I am still looking for a red, non reflective, trunk badge if anyone has one laying around.

From PFYC right? If so I have the same deal for my front badge. Mine is green reflective. When I looked at it on the site it looked like the same green as my car (dark). But when I got it it was a lot brighter than I expected. I threw it on anyway and it looks much better than the red badge on a green car. I'm not drivin no daymn chistmas lookin car. crazy

Yeah... from PFYC.
It shows that the black is the only reflective color, reflects white. All the other colors don't show to be reflective.

Thanks for the offer framos!
Let me know what you find.

Check out zzpdecals.com for some overlays. I believe they also have the choice of non-reflective overlay colors.

nice! they have some nice stuff on there. Even custom work. They don't have a front badge overlay listed so I'm seeing if they'll do a custom one.
thanks!

I got the overlay put on at lunch time today... I am not digging it.
I'll get a pic of it when I get home.
I might have to let it grow on me.
I'm thinking of buying a new door badge, cutting off the "supercharged", to match my doors, and put that on my trunk, with a red overlay on that.

Photoshop it so that you can get a better view and see what you like.

I like it but i'm a no badge besides the one on the front kinda guy. Mine are coming off all together really soon.
It looks great on your car though. Those kind of things always seem to look better on lighter color cars.

I'm really liking that GTP badge on the trunk. 'Course I like anything that has the "huh, well you don't see that everyday" factor, in a positive way cheers

I'm thinking that's what I'm going to go with. I can get a full single badge with the overlay for $50. It'll take about 30 minutes or so to cut the "supercharged" off.
The red "Grand Prix" just didn't have the effect that I was hoping for.

I think if you painted the pontiac letters on your bumper red it would look good.

But if I did that the "PONTIAC" wouldn't stand out as much as it does now. I've seen the red PONTIAC's on several GP's and I think the white stands out more.
Also... I'm not really going for that much red, just a little bit of red here and there.
Believe it or not, I hate red worse than any other color there is, but I think sbtle touches of red on white look sharp, like the first generation Aucura Integra Type R (puts on flame suit and sits and waits for the "rice" flaming). I've always thought the first gen Acura Integra Type R was a sharp looking car.

Yes, it does. I considered getting red inserts for the sheer fact that my car is red, but from seeing pictures of the red ones as compared to lighter colors, the red is much harder to see. I opted for silver, so it looks two-tone gray now. laugh

Kind of ironic Austin. kooky

For me and I have a red GP, I put on the red inserts and I like it. I was also going to suggest the red inserts on yours Austin. It just seems as though the red badges contracts with the white lettering. Just me...

I got red PONTIAC inserts too. It doesn't stand out as much as white but it makes it look more factory, which I like.

That was the first badge to come off of mine. IMHO it looks cleaner. I'm debating whether to remove the GTP badges next. I have a feeling that I would get more "light to light" action without them.

Nope, not debadging. I would prefer to custom cut my badges and show those off, but I have thought about debadging. Then I realized nobody was doing any custom cutting on their badges, so that's the route I decided to take.
There seems to be 2 groups. Those who debadge, and those who don't.
Well... I have created a third group that I'm all alone in (and not worried about showing them off! )... custom cut badges. laugh

BTW... door badge should be here next week sometime. As soon as I get it in, I'm cutting it, putting the red overlay on it and mounting it on the trunk.

Austin,

So would you still want a RED non reflective "grand Prix" decal?

Let me know so that I can get one.

No framos, I think I'm scrapping the whole Grand Prix badge thing. I've been kinda wanting to remove the one thing that says Grand Prix, and this route will do it.
Thanks for the offer! thumbsup

I had a broken badge on my door, so i decided to just debadge the whole thing, looks really clean on the white car, but if I had a GTP id probably leave them, I like the GTP badging.

oh yeah, the GTP trunk badge is an awsome idea. cant wait to see.
