HUD folks, have a question about this thing

What is the slits just to the left of the HUD controls? Is that where the chimes come from? Shown in pic. I want to install my push button start there maybe, just not sure if I can block the slits or cut them out.

Some GT's came with HUD.
I can't see your pic but if they are what I am thinking of then the slits are just slits, their is nothing behind them.

All GP's come with the same instrument panels so they all have that slit. And I also thought that that was where the chimes come from.

I thought it to be a temp sensor for the climate control on the '97-'00. I might be wrong if it's on your 2002..... I'm almost sure I've seen an air tube going to that location with the dash apart.

move the hud switch over to the left cubby and then do it there where the hud is seen it done its cool looking no airtube there its just a slit i had my dash off 2 days ago for pain and theirs isnt anything there

kdi in my shop class had a 96 gtp but same cubby things he did push start .....he jsut made a custon backing ill ask him for pics of his car...

Is there a way to see what temperature that sensor is reading? My auto climate control does a terrible job.

Yes, I replaced that sensor at the start of summer, external temperature looks good.
