On wednesday, I will be replacing by ac delco battery with another one because the 6 years is almost up and I just wanted to know if I dissconnect the battery will the radio go into a mode where I have to put in a code because my last car did that on me and I had no radio for like a month until I went to the dealership.

If you look in your owners manual, it will give you instructions to make your own code, or turn off the theft lock. Very wise to do either before disconnecting the battery if you are unsure of the outcome.

Great question by the way.... Usually this doesn't come up until after the radio is locked.

I've heard of that happening, but I've disconnected my battery some 30 times without that happening.

I changed my battery a few weeks ago and didn't have a problem with the radio security locking it on me. Oddly enough, the time was wrong when I connected the new battery but the radio station presets were retained.

If the Theftlock indicator doesn't flash when the ignition is off, then the feature is disabled, and replacing or disconnecting the battery won't affect the radio. It should play normally. smile
