can i put a 2004 3800 series 2 in a 97 grand prix gt

i have a 1997 grand prix gt with a 3800 series 2 engine i purchased da car with a blown head gasket da car has 168765 miles so im changing da motor i was wondering if a 3800 series 2 out a 2004 buick regal would work? any help would be greatly appriciated

So you can speak english (sort of) ,anyway in answer to your question yes you can use an 04 3.8 but it's not a simple plug and play I would suggest just using the long block and swapping over all accessories including intake and sensors.Chico(pops)

Your best off getting a used block made for your car from Ed Morad. His info is in the second thread of this section.

yeah just use the long block and swap all the sensors thats the fastest way to do it

You won't be able to use the throttle body from the 04+. It's electrically controlled.

Isn't that only on the Series III 3800? The 2004 Regal, despite it's model year still had the Series II I believe, unlike the 04 Grand Prix's which got the Series III.
