Is the Alarm on a 99GTP ment to flash the tail lights?

I pressed the panic button today to set my alarm off but I noticed that only my headlights would flash and my horn sound. Are the tail and headlights ment to flash?

It depends on how your car is currently set up. You can program it to do everything from not flash any lights to flash them all. My car only flashes the headlights, for example, but ChiTown's flashes all of them. Wait for Blackarrow to step in, I'm pretty sure he has the procedure to program them.

I just got done looking at my manual and it doesn't have a mode where it flashes the tail lights.

is the rear light flash thing specific to a few years? My 00 GT did not have the rear flash as a programming option.

Mine do, but that's only because I did a little re-wire that causes my parking lights to flash when I arm/disarm.

I believe it's 02-03 GPs only. Not sure about 01.
Mine, Slicks, and Kaibutsu's all flash, but my old 97s didn't. All are '02 and none of us has done anything to them regarding that.

My 01 flashes all the lights (head, tail and praking) and I doubt it was ever reprogrammed.

Alrighty, I wasn't sure, since I don't know many 01 people. Thanks for the info! So, then it goes like this: With 97-00 GPs, it's not a matter of it being reprogrammed, they're not even wired to flash the tails from the factory. Like Bobby said, he had to do a little wiring to get his to do it. 01-03 are, and DO have the ability to reprogram which lights flash. And on top of that, this is all assuming the GP came with remote lock/unlock, which some don't. Rarely. But I have to add that just in case. I also think it has to have the security system feature also. IIRC, 97s headlights flash when arming, but my 97 didn't have the alarm and the headlights didn't flash when locking it, even though I had remote lock/unlock. So .. 97-00: Factory alarm & remote lock/unlock - Front lights flash when arming. Remote Lock/Unlock only - No lights flash? 01-03: Factory alarm & remote lock/unlock - All parking lights flash (tails, headlights, etc) when arming. Remote Lock/Unlock only - Anyone able to be a guinea pig? Not sure on this one. If anyone can clarify, that'd be great. Just make sure to say what options (alarm, remote unlock) you have and what year, so we can figure it out. FACTORY options. If you have aftermarket alarms or remote unlock, that doesn't count.

Before the rewire, my headlights only flashed when arming/disarming.
