Ok, i have let this go for a while now, but i am gonna go crazy pretty soon.

On the passenger side of the car, under the dash (maybe)? there is a sound of like "crickets"?

It could be from anywhere over there. floorboards, front of door?

Anyone else have this problem? Solutions?

Crickets???

Think it could be the plastic molding rubbing together? Something loose?

I hope it's not crickets.

Not sure. I have the same kind of issue on the back seat on the drivers side. Drives me nuts, and I can't pinpoint the location while I drive.

I've tried having someone sit in the backseat and listen, but it doesn't do it then (leads me to believe it could be the seat squeaking).

Just do what I do: turn up the radio.

Umfan, take out the rear seat cushion (simple) and tighten down the four bolts holding on the back of the seat. One might have worked loose causing your noise. Good place to start at any rate.

Besides the odd pop or whatever, the only problem I have with noise is the shifter handle. It makes a lot of squeaking when moving it back and forward, but I haven't gotten around to taking the boot off so I can lube it.

it could be the blower fan squealing if it is coming from under the dash on the passenger side. i know on ours, it was squealing something terrible, and would lock up at times, but i sprayed wd-40 on it and it worked for almost 2 yrs i guess. now it is starting to start making a sound again, guess when it isn't too cold outside, i'll spray it again.

I have the same noise in my car only its right infront of the drivers wheel, and it usually only happens when im turning to the right? I don't think its the wheel bearings, and wouldnt the cvboot make more of a clunking noise? I dont know what it is but its just as annoying as what ever is making the noise in ordonez1307's passenger side. Oh and it usually is only when i first drive the car. After a little bit of driving it goes away. Little things like that really annoy me

Another time there was soemthing that sounded like a fan under the dash on the passenger side that I could hear sqeeking very very loud. I opened the fuse hole in there to see if i could see anything and i couldnt. I let the car sit for about an hour or 2 got back in and it hasnt come back. Weird. banghead

My issue was the blower fan as well.
I makes a whining sound initially and makes a noise like particles are being juggled around constantly. I still have this issue. It also makes a loud crack sound when I move it to the Window defroster. Like the plastic is initially stuck and it breaks itself free.

Sorry if im stealing this thread!
Its the main thing that is driving me CRAZY!!!!!!

I had a 95 Z24 that sounded like it had crickets under the dash. A screw on the side of the dash had falled out and the dash pad was squeaking. Hold your dash pad down while you drive and see if the noise stops.

Hello,

"Crickets" is usually the blower fan.
Easy fix. Drop the cover under the dash on the passenger side. You will see the fan housing. Squirt some lubricant into the shaft point of the housing. Crickets should go away.

If you have other noises as in "Tastybakes"(why can't we use real names?) case. You will be best off dropping the fan housing and inspecting. There is usually debris in there that needs to be removed.

If you drop the fan assembly, the first thing you will want to do is dissconnect the power supply because the case is charged and will arc if grounded.

Later now,
Clint

What is the cover? The glovebox?
