Well, Saturday is the official hand over of power (My 16 YO is getting the PFYC.com GP). After she gets it, she will be introduced to this board so that she can learn all she can. I have spoken to her many times about responsibility and general ownership of a vehicle. At this point, she still thinks she is getting a 1996 Chevy Lumina. :-D

Trish has driven the new GP a few times since it arrived in Houston on Monday. She thinks its a great car, but I think she still likes her Daytona GP better. What is your take on the new GP Trish? I can already hear the stirrings of a few upgrades to her car already! smile

I will post the pictures as I get them. smile I really can't wait!

Trish really needs to post some more pics too!

Where in Houston is the car?
I'm driving to Galveston this weekend.
Is the car locked up under cover, or is it out in the open?
If it's anywhere near on the way to Galveston, and not locked up under cover, I might be able to talk the wife into taking a little detour on Friday night.
I'd love to see that car.

Actually it is now in The Woodlands, TX. That is just north of Houston. She will be getting the car about Noon that day at her birthday party. smile YAY DADDY!!

I talked to Mike at PFYC.com and he mentioned getting with Chris Green to see if the local GP club can have a meeting at a place near there to Welcome Trish and Cyn! That would be fun for them.

The car is, at the moment, being protected by someone I trust. smile Glock 22 and Ar-15 are constant companions. lol.

I think if you would be in that town this weekend that she wouldn't mind someone stopping by to see it. There will, of course, be the usual suspects with her. :-D

I've been told it runs and handles like a dream. I think so far, I've gotten my money's worth. Time will tell!

Won't be able to see it this weekend if it's in The Woodlands.
I might be interested in maybe taking a day trip to Spring (is that it?) next weekend, if possible.

Good one. A man of similar ideas of protection.

Hmmm... Your family is almost a complete GP family. laugh

LOL Yes. My twins just turned 14 this month. 2 more years and hmmmm THEY might be getting GP's also. smile I think that might make a good article somewhere. Who knows.

notontopic As for protection, yes, I am as picky with personal protection as I am about my cars. Only the best. I once had a friend that wanted to buy his first handgun. When I asked how much he wanted to spend, he said 250. I laughed and then told him for a decent handgun, 500 - 700 would be target. When he scoffed, I just asked one simple question: "Isn't your life worth the few extra dollars?". He spent 600.00 that day. :-)

Now this was off topic, because I had the same discussion about cars before. When a friend wanted to save some money and buy a Grand Am for his daughter... I told him to compare safety data. He bought her a GP. See that kind makes it "on topic" doesnt it?

When you hand over the power, are you going face each other to hold hands and lightning will shoot everywhere with orchestra music playing?

Was your car ever PFYC's pic of the week? I've seen many plain cars on there lately.

Bobby,

Don't stop. Believe me, there have been some really boring cars on there so I am not sure why it hasn't been chosen. I also think it would be good if you put some on here. I have't seen any of yours... OR most of the other members. I like white cars. They way you have the black and red accents just just my style. My cars are always solid colors. Black is my usual color!

So, how about the pics? Any of you putting it all together? I decided to send some of myself so you guys will see how good looking I am smile

I've sent in maybe 4-5 from different times. They say to send your best pic and if you get any better pics, send in the updated pic. This is what I've basically been doing. They say don't expect to see it soon, just keep an eye out for it and they'll pic the best ones they get in.
Here's the last pic I sent them...

Try to get a pic with a different, more neutral background. No tree shadows, a parking lot, open field, e.t.c.

Try a slightly lower camera angle also.

Hercman, do you have anymore pics of that paint job from different angles, I know an excellent paint guy where I live, but he would need to see a little more of the paint scheme to do that or some thing close to it, I love that paint job

It's a GTP, and it's loaded up pretty good.
it was basically PFYC's GP project car.

Bobby,

I like that pic a lot actually. It really stands out. Man, i just love the 97 - 03 body style! The black on white accents are awesome.

When you put the hood on did it take a lot of prep to make it fit?

Herc,

Concerning that Custom paint GP... I just dont like it. I know why though. in 1985 my mother had a Monte Carlo with the same paint job. smile It was cool back then, but I think memories have outdated it in my mind! Hey, I can say this. It is the ONLY GP I have seen painted that way!

Trish, it's not BETTER, its just different. Your car fits you. I just can't imagine you driving a car with that paint job! Your sleek silver Daytona 500 reminds me of you from the moment I saw it. We will just have to do a few mods to make it stronger. The paint job on the red/yellow car... well... It's definitly Cynthia! lol. Brash, bold, and screaming HEY LOOK AT ME!

What is the little black bump above the windshield? Also, are those stock rims or was something done to them?

I think that it's an XM radio antenna, but I'm not sure, he could tell you. also I do believe that he's got the factory polished 5-spoke torque stars ( I wish he'd sell them to me!!!!)

I may be wrong, but IIRC that should answer your ?'s

I like the idea. I saw a Monte Carlo SS that was black, except for that trim at the botom which was silver. It was really sharp looking. Sort of the same, but the colors met much lower so it was less "busy" looking.
