Well Im ready for an oil change.
Whats better? Ramps or using a floor jack
and jack stands. Is the filter hard to reach?
Does the steering wheel need to be turned to the
left or right to get better access to the filter?
Is it a pain to change???

Whats the steps?

I have ramps that I've used in the past but it's so much easier to use a jack. I just turn the wheels all the way to the right and jack it up just enough to get my catch can under the car. It doesn't take much and the wheels don't even come close to coming off the ground. I throw stands under there just in case but you really don't need to be under the car at all to get it done.

The ramps shown in the link are AWESOME. Just make sure you back off them slowly. Some even lay a small piece of wood before the ramp so the bumper cover does not catch, especially when backing down. I used a 6"x6" piece of old fence that is 5/8" thick on my lowered Mustang. If your driveway is sloped. Put the ramps facing downhill so the natural slope of the driveway makes your car more level. I may be anal, but since I go 6 months or 7,500 miles with my synthetic, once the oil has 99% drained and is dripping slowly, I pour a cheap qt of oil in the valve cover. It is amazing how much more black oil comes out. I also replace my drain plugs with ones with a magnet in the tip. I wipe off what looks like graphite dust each oil change. They are like $5 at Advanced Auto.

Walmart sells 5 qt jugs of Mobil 1, Penzoil, Valvoline and Quaker State the cheapest I have found unless someone has a rebate going on. It is cheaper to buy a 5 qt jug than 5 single qt bottles.

Get a filter for a 2000 Blazer 4x4 with a 4.3. It is almost 1" longer so better filtering capacity. This is more important on a older engine or if you push your oil change times, Purolator or Mobil 1 is my choice.

I prefer 5W-30 Valvoline or Mobil 1. I don't understand GM, as my 01 & 04 Monte Carlos called for 5W-30.

Remember not to turn your filter on too tight. Put it on as tight as you can with one hand. If you use the wrench, you will be sorry next time. I also fill my filter 3/4 with oil. You can fill it full a few times as it will soak into the element and spaces in the filter. This helps lube your engine immediately when started the first time, instead of waiting for the filter to fill up.

That's FAQ material right there. Never even considered pouring an extra quart down.

Haha I saw that too. All of your questions could have been answered by a simple search, especially one of the questions you've already asked.

Once someone posts the same thing more than once, they lose the right to not have their thread ruined.

Because headers open up the flow right off the heads meanwhile the DP opens up after the Manifolds. And yes to run 3.4 definitely want headers unless you like to take KR up the wazoo.
