When I ran an open cone, I just zip-tied my PCM.
I've since built my own CAI and now it just sits inside the CAI.

...and welcome!

I made a bracket and attached it to the coolant bottle.

No, it's sealed up pretty good against the elements.

Besides, if the PCM will be inside the CAI, you don't have to worry about it.

I made a little plate for it to sit on positioned in the space below my CAI.
Then i put some packing padding on it, its like little foamy plastic stuff, not styrafoam, I put it on the top and bottom of the plate, this cushions it off the car and gives some cushion to the PCM. Next I made a little.... a I guess you could call it a bracket thingy that goes over the top of it to just hold it securely in place. snipped a few holes in the bottom plate to thread some velcro straps through, they held the top on and the whole unit in place, I also added some aluminum angles to keep the PCM from sliding foward, I used rivets anywhere I had to connect things together. and finaly, I used some blind fasteners to secure it to the car, these slip in the square holes under the stock airbox and then have a threaded part that sticks into the circle hole that is right next to the square hole... ok you got that?? No drilling on the car, thats all that matters!! I will get some pics of that later.. Here is a pic of the PCM in the car and one of my "done" custion CAI that isnt finished yet.

Wow.. looks great.. If you don't mind Im gonna borrow your procedure and do the same. I was worried that water/moisture would damage the PCM because why else would GM have it "enclosed"

GM put it there because there is no place else to put it. The PCMs on their trucks are all exposed to the engine compartment. They are sealed units that's why you can't do a simple chip swap you have to have the PCM reprogramed.

I was kinda thinking not paint the dogbones and cross braces, and let them blend in with the rest of the compartment. Cant have too many things accented.

Hawkeye, that engine cover is beautiful.

How'd you paint the lettering so crisp?
