Does anyone know what the top speed is for a 01 grand prix GT? with the PCM reprogrammed and the top speed limiter removed?

i know gtps are 150mph or so

When I had just the PCM and an intake, I took it up to 120... it would've gone higher (not sure how much higher), but it takes too long to accelerate up there.

Now with the CSC, it pulls pretty hard at 120... I chickened out at 125 though. I can easily believe it would go past 150-155. Don't wanna rape the engine too much either.

I got my 86 1/2 Escort (non GT) to 128mph. I got my Taurus SHO to 138mph. I imagine the stock GT would hit 130-140 without much trouble (but I am not going to find out as I am not as young and adventurous as I was with those last cars )

I hit 150 on the dyno. The raised limiter shut the car down at 150 (limiters are not removed on reprogrammed PCM's, they're raised to a level you'll never see on the street). I was about 200-300 rpm's away from redline on the tach.

I'm assuming that a GT has the same gear ratio as a GTP stock for stock, so theoretically, I'm guessing that a GT would probably be able to go just as fast as a GTP as far as the tranny is concerned. The fastest I have heard of a GTP going is around 145ish, this is without heavy mods, I would assume that this is pretty much right around top speed for a GT or GTP unless you have taller gears or att a 5th gear.

I don't know for sure how fast I was going, but I've had mine topped out tranny wise. It was in 4th, and the rpms were around 5950... speedo was straight down into the tac, but I dont have a hud or anything so I couldnt tell ya how fast I was going. This of course was done on a closed track with the proper safety precautions

Actually... final drive ratios are as follows:
Compg and GT = 3.29
GTP = 2.93

Check it out. Assuming stock tire diameter, it will give you speed vs RPM.

So, technically, a 3.29 tranny can get the car to 200mph with a raised 6500rpm limmiter. Kinda doubt that would happen. Theres other things that aren't taken into account, like TCC slippage. I don't think the tq converter will be locked up there, but I could probably force it locked with the power tuner

One thing you can't account for is aero drag.

Oh actually that spreadsheet has 2.93, 3.29, and 3.69 gears.
You GTPs should raise your rpms to 8000 so you can go 277mph

I've hit 128 on a then stock GTP, I was kinda excited! State Trooper wasn't too thrilled!

fastest i have gone was 120 with my stock 89 GP SE. I ran out of road though, so i don't know how much faster it would have gone.
