Being a GTP owner I would highly suggest buying a GTP and then going to work on it. Put on a smaller pulley on the supercharger nosedrive (3.4" is nice )install the tranny cooler and bingo your at 30 more horses. I saw a sweet GTP with a 3.0" pulley with a ZZP Throtle Body isolated from the S/C with a composite place and a very nice intake set up pulling over 300Hp.
But as you can tell I am a bit biased....

Dont get me wrong here, i have considered that. But my main reason is i love the rear wheel drive car. Just the feelin it has. and a GTP is not outta the question yet.

Uh, (being a former bbblack M6(that's a manual 6 speed)('98)TransAm owner, check my H/P) I would say there's no question, get the Z-28. Ya see, I love the feel of the rear wheel drive, too laugh But, one 'big' word of advice here, get ready to set your saddle down on the insurance. Cuz, my premiums doubled from the '96 Impala SS(which is about the same as the GTP's) to the '98 TransAm(which had the leather). Just be prepared to pay the hi'er insurance premiums, you do decided to jump over to the darkside w/ the f-body.

Later,
Don cool

On the other hand, I will be doing the mods. Quark_Man mentioned to my '00 GTP. In order to pick-up the added horses and live w/ the FRW(better gas MPG and lower insurance premiums) for alil while. While attemp. to eliminate the rick lookin(black/dark lookin) exhaust(inside) tips

HAHA double. Im sorry that you had to pay that. I will layout what my insurance will be from my 98gt to the 99 z28. 20 more dollars a month. Yeah and that is full coverage everything. Less than 900 dollars for a whole year. I have decent insurance and a perfect record. So my actual worries are GAS AND TIRES. Tires being the big one.

Then, go for it...my insuance was alill sheeper then $900. But, then again you have a perfect record. I guess that helps up in your area. Mine on the other hand hasn't don't been perfect, in my opinion.

As for the tires and gas, it really depends on your driving style. W/ a perfect record you hasn't have to much to be concerned about. As the tires and gas will hopefully last alill longer. But, there again this is a true sport car. Therefore, it will(or should) have the Z-rated tires. Which run any where for $150. to 265.(for the Goodyear GSC's, @ a goodyear store) apeice. Course, the Tirerack.com will give ya the best price even @ that. The GSC's are the stock tires that came on the Firebird and Camaros w/ the performance package. Which all Z-28 and WS6's had and some of the TransAms and Formulas. Then, the gas mileage is just what you make of it. I got around 20-22 MPG on the hi-way and alill less(actually never checked this side) in the city.

Good luck,
Don
