Years ago, I thought it was called "boxing day" because of all the gift returns causing a lot of retailers restocking the items/handle a lot of boxes, especially clothes.

That's what usually happens after Christmas. Later people wanted to snatch deals for stuff that didn't sell and stores want to get rid of or to buy returned stuff. The latter is naive because they don't restock that quick.

Retail prices for electronics drop big time in January so I wait for those.

Ya they definitely do. I was thinking of putting my top swap on hold and spending the cash i had saved up on a TV but , come march (my birthday) the price for a 37" LCD TV is going to be stupid cheap now that LED tv's are coming around.
